What is Buzzup?
Think of Buzzup as a portal to news, information and interesting stories on the web from New Zealand. A one stop shop so you can find all the latest news and gossip from a number of different sites. Best of all, YOU (the user) submit the stories and links you think other people will like. After you submit content, other people read your submission and vote for what they like best. If your story rocks and receives enough votes, it is promoted to the front page for the millions of visitors to see.
Buzzup, is a web application that allows you to submit an article that will be reviewed by all and will be promoted, based on popularity, to the main page. When a user submits a news article it will be placed in the "unpublished" area until it gains sufficient votes to be promoted to the main page.

What is Buzzup SmartSystem?
Smartsystem will automatically detect if this URL is a video (i.e. Youtube, Google Video, xoinks etc) so you don't need to. We have made it easier for you and the system will now automatically add a play button if it is a video. This also means our "Submit to Buzzup" bookmarklets and integration tools now work for videos. To find out more about the bookmarklets go to Buzzup Tools

How does the Approval System work?
Unfortunately there are "people" out there that wish to ruin sites like Buzzup with spam. We are doing our best to stop this and have introduced an Approval System.
We have automatically approved all US domains and other domains will be added over time. If the domain in the url you are submitting has not been approved your story will need to be approved by an administrator before it will show in the list of upcoming stories. Once the story is approved we will add the domain to the verified list and in future the story will show up immediately. If you would like to have your domain added to this list please use the contact form.
